SHAWL MINISTRY
SHAWL
MINISTRY KNITTING CIRCLE Knitting shawls in our circle each month is an
activity that has become meaningful to all those who come. The flow of
the yarn, the clicking of the needles and the quiet conversation is
fulfilling and contemplative for all of us. The giving of the shawls is
a wonderful experience.
The Shawl Ministry Knitting Group meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month from noon until 2 PM at the Fellowship building. This group knits (and crochets) shawls for people in hospice, nursing homes and others who need comfort due to an illness, loss of a loved one or experiencing a difficult time in their life. If you don't knit or crochet we can teach you. The pattern is very easy. The yarn is very reasonable. We are now a small group but would like to grow so come check us out. The group is not limited to UUFP members. Anyone is welcome. To read about Shawl Ministry please check out the website ShawlMinistry.com “Knitting into the Mystery” a guide to the Shawl-Knitting Ministry, written by Susan S. Jorgensen and Susan S. Izard shares the stories of how this ministry has touched lives and hearts around the world. |
